Though we have handled nearly every conceivable type of legal problem, we have developed particular expertise for both plaintiffs and defendants, in the following specialized areas:

• Personal injury/Wrongful Death  We represent individuals who have suffered severe personal injuries or the wrongful death of a family member from automobile accidents, drunk drivers, defective or unsafe products, or from workplace accidents.  We have also received multi-million dollar settlements in cases involving trucking accidents.
   
• Criminal Law We have defended the rights of the criminally accused for years. We handle nearly every conceivable type of criminal case, from a simple traffic ticket to DWI, felony drug trafficking or murder trails, and "white collar" crimes such as fraud, tax evasion, and embezzlement. Potential targets of criminal investigations in the investigatory or pre-indictment stages often retain us. We are highly experienced in all phases of the criminal process from the pretrial preliminary hearing and suppression of evidence phase to the trial by jury. We pursue post-trial and appellate remedies as well.
   
• Workers' Compensation/Social Security Our substantial experience in medical cases allows us to be particularly effective in representing clients in serious work related claims.
   
• Family Law/Divorce/Custody Family law comprises a significant portion of our practice; it encompasses adoption, paternity, premarital agreements, and the amicable dissolution of marriage, to complex accounting/valuation disputes over property and contested custody and support issues. We often appear in post-dissolution matters involving enforcement of divorce decrees, changes of custody, and interstate custody disputes that develop when one parent wrongfully takes the children out of state. We represent as many women as we do men, as many fathers as we do mothers. We approach domestic and custody disputes just as we do any other type of legal proceeding: our objective is to aggressively accomplish our clients' objectives, and advise them of potential resolutions.
   
• Medical Malpractice  We regularly represent claimants (including children) for wrongful death or extensive injuries resulting from negligence of a hospital, physician, nurse practitioner or other health care provider.  Catastrophic cases may arise from a primary care doctor's failure to diagnose diseases such as cancer, or failure to refer patients to an appropriate medical specialist, a baby who dies or is permanently maimed, and patients who are sent home from the emergency room with inadequate treatment.  Not every bad result means someone was negligent.  Our experience has made us adept at analyzing these cases, simplifying complex medical matters, and identifying and aggressively pursuing legal remedies.
   
• Nursing Home/Managed Care Neglect Medical science enables us to live longer lives, though often requiring long-term care facilities for our aging population. As the nursing home population grows, so do instances of abuse and neglect of elderly friends and relatives. Managed Care organizations sometimes improperly decide who takes care of us when we are sick, whether we get to see the doctor, and how much care we get. Our firm is skilled in obtaining fair compensation for death or debilitating injuries suffered when health care providers fail to live up to the standard of care of their profession.
   
• Business and Commercial Law We provide comprehensive services to our business clients, including choosing the correct business entity such as partnership, close held corporation, or limited liability company. We negotiate and prepare the necessary organizational and business agreements, and handle the acquisition and sale of businesses, as well as dissolution.

  We advise as to ongoing business operations, director and officer liability, and assist in evaluating franchising, trade association membership and activities, and shareholder's rights. As litigation attorneys, we appear in court in all types of complex business litigation cases, such as business fraud, shareholder rights, lender liability, employment disputes, non-compete/trade secret thefts, and business torts of all types.
